I lost movement in the passenger seat of my classic a few years back. Basically I got it working again by soaking the switch in contact cleaner and moving the switches to clean. From memory I had to partially dissemble the switch first, taking the knobs and covers off.

After that I had no problems night to the end of ownership.

    Cheers

I've just been through all of that in my 93.
    Thread here: Electric Seat Question.

In a nutshell. The drivers side uses relays and transistors (darlingtons) on a circuit board underneath the seat, the switch just sends low power signals. The passengers seat puts all the power through the seat switch.

So I had the board under the drivers seat repaired and I dismantled the passengers seat switch and scraped the contacts clean. Both are working perfectly now. It is well worth fixing them and a reasonably straightforward job.

To unbolt them, you'll need to hot-wire them to get fore/aft movement. There is an 8 contact plug under the back of the seat, unplug that. I used insulated alligator clip leads onto the pins in that plug (they are paired for each motor) and onto a spare 12v battery to move it.

    Hi

Pull the seat switches out and clean the contacts, there are a lot of small ball bearings and springs inside but is a simple job.
From having non working seats in a 93 RRC to fully functioning took around 2 hours work.
Do the work where you cannot loose any of the small parts.

    Well done mate!

That sounds like a big win.

Battery drain is sometimes hard to find and soooo bloody annoying
