    G'Day Jeremy.
Mate if you have the Time, Space, Money and Motivation, then GO FOR IT!!

Build it and they will come.

As Weeds has stated, there are regulatory issues to overcome, but by the number of other parks around, not impossible. I understand that having Motorbikes on the property is the biggest liability issue. THAT said, it won't be too long before the only place a rider can get muddy is on private land, so they will happily pay for the privelage (and cover the increased premiums required). Seperating users (Motor bike/ 4WD and Mountain Bike) have you considered the Mountainbike market?)

It won't be too long before the knuckleheads get all the interesting tracks at Mt. Mee closed and authorities get heavy handed with the foolishness that occurs in the Glasshouse SF area. They will have to go somewhere!!

Mate, I am just kicking off in earnest in the Outdoor Recreation Training world and am very keen to talk to you about the use of your land for Training (4WD, Bushcraft, Bushwalking, Rescue etc.) PM coming your way soon.
If the Open slather model doesn't work and you still want to make some money/ provide access to the tracks, the other option is limited commercial access for people like me or clubs.
    Cheers, BDave.

Good luck with it if you decide to give it a go. But don't underestimate the amount of work needed to make the place ready to admit the general public.
    Dan and Dave,

Yeah mate that hill climb is pretty steep. When i stopped in the video to shift it into diff lock its bloody steep there. That's why i gave a little puff because it was a bit wet and it was starting to slide backwards with my foot planted hard on the brakes (you can't really tell) and it a good hard gravel base lol.

I've got steeper hill climbs too.. They are bloody steep haha. I know my old Rangie isn't really spec'd up. That's why i wanted some of the guys from this forum with there "Heavy Modified Range Rovers" to give it a go or Landies or whatever. I just wanted to name Range Rover Park because there is already Landcruiser park Just a little joke..

Probably wont do the public thing just yet.

If any forum members would like to come out just PM me.

And just a note.. That knob with the $40,000 Range Rover thats been advertised on ebay for the last 15 years is banned ahahahahahaa!!!

    Every one else is welcome

    PM me!

    Cheers

    Jeremy

    Thanks Dave!

Sounds perfect. I have already had some people out here and they think its unbelievable.

    Please PM me.

To be honest mate. The reason why i'm doing this is this particular piece of land is unbelievably hard terrain. Some tracks will be near on impossible if you haven't got diff locks and absolute gobbs of horsepower.

I have now left the mining industry. I have returned to the family farm so that it wont get sold. You'll all understand when you see it. My for most occupation is a farmer and the land on the said 4WD track i can't farm. So if i can't farm it. It will go on the market and this block has always been close to my heart because its been in my family for over 100 years. I DONT want to sell it

Also as a young farmer now i am finding it hard to even pay bills and put food on the table. Let alone even go to Brisbane to take my partner shopping and try to do dome things we enjoy. I don't want to sound like a whiner but it's just reality now...

So maybe one day, even just a tiny little few bucks for the day would help me.

I don't want anybody to pay just yet though.

Let's just get a few AULRO members up here over the next couple of months and i will see if will work.

I know it maybe a pipe dream, but i would like one day to make it a Internationally known location. But i'm probably dreaming haha

    Cheers

    Jeremy

You won't be able to call it "Range Rover Park" unless there's an on-site Winery and caravan park.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

From my scant knowlege of running Scout camps, you'll have to provide 'adequite' toilet facilities depending on the number of people you let in. You'll need to do environmental risk management (impact statements) for designated camping spots (very easy to do). Basically all your messy mud runs, we have a donut ring, ie, intensive impact stuff, can't run into creeks, wetlands etc. (of course in torential rain everything runs into the rivers though)
I'd be doing down the line of a liability waver that is signed by every adult (children would be listed on the waver and signed by their parents). You'd want to have a lawer look at this liability waver to make sure it is idiot proof.
I really don't know what your fire risk is up there, but running the Mafeking Rover Park here in Vic. we can't hold large events there (we're limited to about 900 people) as we've only got one way in and out that a bus can take. You probably wouldn't have that amount of people, but it's something to think about.

Maybe 4wd Action mag might be a good spot to gain an idea of how viable it's going to be. Maybe contact Levuka, tojo park etc.

Maybe "Discovery Park" would be more generic....

Also maybe a good idea to have a few "hard stands" (concrete pads) for those with caravans etc who may want to visit.

Powered sites would probably also be an attracting for that crowd but there are probably much more issues an expense with that.

You will need to permit fires or nobody will come. Camp fires = camping.
In which case I'd also strongly suggest providing firewood.

Levuka does (or at least did last time I was there) and it's a really nice touch and well appreciated !

Do you have any huge empty machinery sheds on the property or farm? If so they could be offered to people to park in in the event of a pending hail storm etc. (though as there would be no guarantee you wouldn't advertise it but word of mouth about how good the place is, is the best advertisement of all)

What about running a few forum only days.
Get a lot of sets of eyes having a look over the land and seeing what its like out there.
Shouldnt take too much organisation, just a turn up and go sort of thing.

Otherwise i can imagine insurance would be an issue, very few policies cover insurance on private roads.
    Cheers,
    Joe
