water leakign in driver side rear fixed window

    Hi guys.

finally found out where a water was comign in. Got the misses to put the garden hose on the side window and it pours in, around bolt/holes, seams etc.

anyone else had this isse. the rubber around the window isn't great - is the seal replaceable/where to get it from?

my plan was to pull the rear panel off and the black vinyl pillar, dry it all out and sikaflex the out of it, and replace the seal if I can?

    any other suggestions?

I actually had one of those windows loose, rattling around back there. The seal must have shrunk and a lot of rain was getting in. Luckily I got to it before the back end rusted out as you often see on old Rangies.

I just used silicone, rather than mucking about with new seals. I masked off the body and windows and put silicone down, then smoothed it out as well as possible, and then took off the tape. It's not pretty, but not too bad either. The plan, for about year 2039 at this rate, is to do the same but load up lots of silicone and then shape it with a tool with the right profile. With some luck it would look like a proper seal, and it certainly wouldn't shrink again!

Oh, and wear tight-fitting rubber gloves. Dear me, I'm glad I did with all that silicone. (Naturally, people can take this right out of context if need be. )
