Ditto, I was in an Army vehicle when I did it and ended up jumping out! Boy did my Sergeant go off at me

    Oooooh. Salt. Wound. Rub hard.

    That's pretty crappy news Fonfe.

On a serious note, do you know what was deficient in your recovery gear or techniques that lead to the loss? Or was it just a real case of the crappiest luck?

He texted me before saying he was going back to the beach on his motorbike to check out the damage and to see if there was anyway if getting her above the high tide mark.

You're not the first, nor will be the last...

    - Don't be too hard on yourself, - leave that to your enemies (or friends, - that's their job )

I came so very close, around 20 years ago. After walking several km's (thongs...) through snake-infested country to a travelled track... I had a pretty fair idea of what I'd done wrong....

    Cheers & Sympathies.

PS, Rule of Thumb:- In WA, when travelling along the coast, make sure the high-tide line is to your West...

Bummer mate, that's pretty **** news.
Hope you're able to salvage some bits.
Recovering a well stuck vehicle on damp sand is always going to be like pulling teeth.
    Best of luck.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I was down at Rainbow beach on Friday - saw a Disco buried up to the floor pan with the waves breaking through it. Hope it wasn't anyone from here...

Might have been the one in the thread about the GQ that got toasted.

    Really sorry to hear
I'd be totally gutted too, they become part of the family. Not to mention the blood, sweat and tears you give them. Oh, and money
Hopefully things won't be as bad as they appear and she will be salvageable.
    Here's hoping,
