Take your RRC to someone that has a one inch high pressure water hose, and wash inside everything with lots of water.

Sand would have been carried into the engine, housings, chassis etc so wash all the gearbox/transfer, wheel bearings and inside of the diffs.

A fire fighting pump might be a good purchase at this time.

it might be too soon, but does this settle the hand vs electric winch argument once and for all?

    I think so...

There was also a separate thread a while back saying winches are useless on the beach...

They may not be what I'd pick first, but if I got stuck on a beach I wouldn't stand there going "Well, thats it then, my winch is useless so I may as well not use it"

I'd only stop trying when I'd exhausted every possible option, broken everything in my recovery kit twice, and cut myself to ribbons on winch cable.

Then again, I am a little odd

Really?? I thought you were the epitome of sophistication.

    Or was that just yesterday

I suppose we can expect a degree or two of eccentricity when your mother is a gerbil, your father smells of apple blossom, and you live in an Orange.
