Hi,
Re: Switch........ it is what it is. Mine has only two positions but the wiring is there for driving lights in stock form.
Binnacle cover........ can be very, very fragile. Be very mindful of this!
The face of the binnacle (with gauges and warning lights) is mounted on a frame attached to the top of the dash. There are no screws between the face and the cover at the back.
The cover is held in place by two spring clips on the frame at the bottom of the cover on the windscreen side, and flanges around the face. You remove it by very gently pulling it up from the windscreen side.
It helps if you remove the threaded ring on the odometer reset first, the cable is quite short.
Be very careful not to touch the flexible printed circuit board at the back of the face, it won't be flexible anymore!
cheers, DL

Thanks 350RRC
The front face of the binnacle (the plastic part withe holes in it for the gauges and warning lights) - can that be removed without taking the whole pod off, or do you have to remove the whole unit off the dash first?
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry taking so long to reply...........been busy.
The front part is held onto the frame by two screws on either side that are visible when the back cover is removed.
The question is why would you want to remove it?
There is a serious risk of big tears when fragile old working stuff is disturbed for no really good reason. Don't ask how I know, haha.
There is a big multi pin plug on the back of the front face that is all connected fine now but cannot be disconnected then connected again without something not working, for example.
Then you have the printed circuit board made out of rice paper and Unobtainium.
Happy to send you photos on a mob if you PM me a number.
cheers, DL
