Yes I've done that with the existing rangie. When I do a body and suspension swap I can legally do either (abs or manual brakes). Pretty much the only reason I want to keep the rangie ABS is for the rear axle traction control. With a Torsen rear diff that'll give me all the traction I need.

But I really want to keep the bigger calipers. The manual braked 85 with the 46mm calipers (single line) stops better than the 93 with ABS and 41.3mm calipers (dual line).

Yes, but I'm not sure if the discos ever had traction control. I know some D2's did. But they might be getting too far removed as far as a retrofit goes. Maybe P38 parts will help?

No D1s had traction control, but they did have ABS.

    I figured as much.

The P38 one might be the best bet, it has the same hideously complicated look to it:

I called up my P38 guru to discuss compatibility, but apparently friday is now landrover club beer night.

Description here for P38's to 99 talks of a C series ECU for the ABS which also can run a rear axle traction control. http://landrover.workshop-manuals.co...dex.php?id=980
How does that relate to classic ABS ECU and connectors?
