I just picked up a wrecked '89 model 3.5 RR with a viscous, probably it means 89MY are viscous including late '88 manufacture vehicles.

Congratulations on your wise choice of Previous Owners !

They can have a long life if basic rules are followed, such as tyre pressures, replacing all 4 at the same time, being nice to it.

I'm just biased 'cos mine failed at less than 150K, and differant tyre-heights and oDd pressures were factors.
But the PO had it 'serviced' by a back-yarder who oversaw the total destruction of the radiator and EAS pump failure in less than 70k

This car was originally owned by a company I worked for, it was the directors car. Then he bought it and kept it at his holiday home. Perfect first and second owner behaviour, but before I got it some clown broke in, stretched the steering wheel into an oval to remove a club-lock and smashed the steering column covers and lock to steal it.

Which was enough damage to scare off any other buyers and keep the price down. No it wasn't me. I have an alibi.
