I fitted a "rollmaster" dual chain on my 3.5
it was adjustable.
this is the second rangie I have done with that brand, from memory at the time about $170
Well worth the money

This is really just a request on other RRC owners' shopping experiences, specifically timing chain and gear kits.
I'm in the market for one of these kits, but have seen several different brands, different materials and huge price differences.
At the moment I've got my eye on the $77 kit from roverparts.com.au, but there's no details on the kit, anyone bought k3003 from RoverParts? And can you part with some information?
My local LR authority, British Off-road want $198 for the kit, I've seen it, held it, it feels like a quality item, but the price is ouch, very ouch.
There's a kit on eBay, from someone I've bought a fair bit if LR stuff from in the past, inc shipping it's about $70, there's a picture and tbh it looks the same as the kit at British Off-road, but I'd like to avoid waiting a month for shipping.
Makes the RoverParts kit all the more appealing, but I don't know if I'm getting a shonky nylon gear, or a good steel gear. I'd call them, but they're not open again till Monday.
There are other kits available on eBay and other suppliers, but I'm starting to feel like Alice, going deeper into the rabbit hole.
So are there any tips or suggestions?
@the admins, I know this is a shopping related thread and could be in the marketplace forum, but really I'm looking for other owners shopping experiences and knowledge, having said that, if this thread should very moved, then please do so.
Cheers,
Swarvey.

Ive fitted several sets of double row timing chains to rover v8's and had about three eat into the timing cover where the dissy passes through.
The factory timing kits last along time, usually about 300000kms, if you keep your servicing up to sctratch. Also the Morse chain "flexes" giving you ignition retardation at extremely high revs, stopping pinging. Rover spent a lot of money and development to find the best setup when they re-engineered the buick motor. I use the timing chain kits from roverparts and small block chev lifters. All very early car motors had genuine chev lifters, chev part numbers etched into them. My last 3.5 had 10.5:1 pistons matchported heads, SU's, graphed dissy got 32mpg in rover car, then 29mpg in 2dr RRC on 33" bfg muddies.
Hi guys, been a busy few days working on Jeremy so I've been slack getting on here.
Thanks for the information. I ended up buying the standard chain and gear set from RoverParts.com.au for a respectable price. The cam gear is nylon, but considering the old boy's done well over an 'estimated' 180,000km on it, I just went the cheap route.
The kit was $77 with forum members shipping discount, well worth going the cheap way. After all, it takes bugger all time and effort (I've discovered) to get the front cover off, replace the timing kit and be done with it. While I was at it I replaced leaking gaskets etc. So the way I see it, spending $77 odd every few years, is worth it.
Thanks again guys & gals.
