Two types of loom tape that I know of. One is the usual shiny (low or zero adhesive) that clings on, the other is a fabric/hairy stuff, that is specifically meant for harnesses that my be in contact with other looms or underdash body etc. Designed to 'not' squeak. Search on evilbay, like here...

The wires will need securing to each other some how - even if its just a bit of tape every foot or so, then the whole lot put in split conduit or a wrapping of your choice. If the wires are not secured together well, then they will fret and wear through after a few years causing you no end of grief.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
