    Vacuum advance broke off

    Hello

So working on my engine last week and had a little accident and broke the vacuum advance unit of the dizzy. When I inspected it the screws had a small bit of metal around them so I'm guessing it's taken the metal with it. My first thought was a new dizzy or bigger screws.

    Can anyone help.

What engine? The dizzys are different between the 3.5 and the 3.9's. it shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement dizzy from someone here.

Try a thicker but not longer screw. Was it even working ?, a lot of the older ones have stopped working and if that's the case you wont notice any difference without it. so long as the mechanical advance is working then I wouldn't be to worried about it.

suck on the fitting and see if the rod pulls in and hold the vacuum with your tongue and see if the rod holds/stays in.

Haven't blocked it but will try it. When I suck on it it comes in a little but doesn't hold when I put my tongue over it.
