I'm thinking you might benefit from removing the no. 1 spark plug, then connect the lead back to it. Lean the plug against the engine turn it over to make sure you can see spark. Rather than relying on the timing light.

The benefit of doing it this way also is you can turn the engine over by hand. If you have the ignition on you can see when the spark plug fires, you can check the rotor button is pointing at no1 and you can check for TDC.

Because the spark plug is already out you can also check for compression stroke on No. 1 to ensure you do not have it firing on the exhaust stroke.

If you do have it right you will hear and feel the compression build up on No.1, then the spark plug will fire. (Hint need second person to put thumb over spark plug hole)

If all that is correct than you have a fuel, air or not turning over fast enough issue. I remember i had trouble starting my car initially after changing the dizzy simply because i was not turning it over fast enough. When i connected the jumper pack it fired much easier. Once it was running it was easy to fine tune with the timing light.

Ok so went back got tdc by feeling for compression and stuck a wire in to make sure it was tdc. While plug was out I checked spark by turning dizzy which it gave a good sharp spark. Plugged it all back in and nothing no kick or anything. Guessing it's fuel air mix. As it smells of fuel. How can I check all this ??

They flood real easy. Try cranking it with your loud pedal mashed to the carpet.

The more throttle the more air. Fuel is delivered as a relation to air. When you press the throttle it adds air. Then the ECU decides how much fuel you need. When the car is not running the ECU won't know how much more fuel to add yet. That is the basics of it.

So in short the answer to your question is no. Did you also try to add more volts to your battery? Have a go at both.

Also try removing the air filter to see if it starts. Obviously don't leave it off.

If it is not timing, spark or fuel then it can only be air in or exhaust out.

Also I had 5-10 litres in my tank and the car would not start but i could smell fuel. If if think you only have about this much maybe add some more.

My 3.5 litre starts and run, poorly, without the Flapper (MAF) even connected. So the mixture probably doesn't stop it from starting.

IS IT DUEL FUEL? I lost count of how many times my car wouldn't start because my fuel switch was in the center between gas and petrol.

It is duel fuel but I make sure it's on fuel. I'm thinking of charging the battery as jumping it gets it going but not as fast as normal.

    Does it start on gas?

So while I have been charging the batt I decided to recheck I was on compression stroke and it spewed a heap of fuel out. What would cause this.
