    RRC Fuel consumption comparison

I was reading one of the other topics about fuel consumption in the RRC and did a check over my three land rovers over a three month period just to see what they were actually averaging.

At the time I was living in Buninyong Victoria and driving up to Tullamarine in Melbourne each day and driving around within the city.

First car is my 04 D2a TD5 Bullbar, winch, 2" lift, 33"tyres, LR tank, steel rear bar, roof rack, rear drawers, chipped, lockers etc (Auto)
    13.59 ltr per 100kms

Second car is a 91 three door D1 V8 3.5 with a LR tank, Aluminium Bullbar, other than that stock (manual)
    16.42 ltr per 100km

Last but not least the trusty 94 Soft Dash RRC V8 3.9 stock no mods (Auto)
    16.23 ltr per 100km

Just sharing as a discussion point
    Cheers

    Rob

Great info. The only real shock is the TD5 returning 13 +. and if you want to get rid of that gas guzzling Rangie, just PM me

That's a lot of weight and wind resistance to be lugging around.
If the TD5 had the same stuff as the RRC then IMHO it would get about 10 Lper 100 or better.
Mine got 12 towing a camper trailer at 100kmh ( regular checks over 18,000 Km) and about gets about 11.4 around the Central Coast. I don't know what it would do at 100Kmh without the trailer but one 80Kmh fill around Esperance it got better than 9.

At 20 litres per 100km around town/freeway, I'm not game to take the Lady Sarah on long country runs... Not enough petrol stations out there!

'95 Classic Vogue SE, 3.9 V8 abomination / auto. Standard tyres, no roof-fruit.
    -but with working air suspension...

I don't know the size of the fuel tank but the old mans D2a TD5 gets 850kms to the tank with only freeway driving. If it used 80 liters of fuel that's approx 9.4lt / 100kms. It is 100% stock even still runs Mitchy tires on it. It has done approx 270,000 kms.

1993 vogue SE spring conversion & 265/65/16 tyre gets me approx 15.7 L/100 with 344,000kms on clock. Whereas my 1981 3.5 on LPG averaged 22.5L/100 with 2" lift & 31/10.5/15 tyres & bullbar. That's mostly highway though.

My '86 560,000 odd km RRC, 3.5 flapper,2 1/2" exhaust, 5-speed, 245/75's, ARB front and rear bar, roof rack. averages low 14's on 91 and 13's with a tad more timing and 95 fuel. Can get down as low as 12.5/100 on the hwy with 95.

'93 3.5 auto disco....not as good, but averaged mid 15's atm on 245/75 AT's, bit worse with 31x10.5 muddies.
