    Power at the ground = 78kw.

    Power (watts) = torque (Nm) X rotating speed (rad/s).
    Make torque the subject.
    Torque = power/rotating speed.

    2000rpm = 209.4 rad/s
    78kw = 78,000 watts.
    Torque = 78,000/209.4
    Torque = 372Nm at the ground.

    With 30% drivetrain loss this becomes 531Nm.
    With 35% drivetrain loss this becomse 572Nm.

    The drivetrain loss I have no hard numbers for. So I give a few different values for transparency.
    Remember that was at 800m altitude. Air density is about 10% down on sea-level which drops power.

    I can however calculate out power and torque at individual points using roads of known slopes, vehicle weight and speed attained.
    2,500kg
    800m altitude
    6.75 degree slope
    4th gear
    80km/h.[/quote]

    Do the maths on the above. The result is 78kw to the ground.

    I'm turning 3 diffs and a transfer case. It's a lot more than 15%.

    Yeah sorry, but I did split the bear off to it's own topic:

    So getting back on topic, where would one get an adr30 approved label from for my engine?

    Start reading here:

    Then here:
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/isuzu-land...rediction.html

    My numbers aren't high. One guy in the US fitted compound turbos (put the 100psi boost gauge off the end) and an injection pump capable of 7 time the factory fuel levels.
    500hp is a very conservative estimate for that one.

    A 4BD1T with stock pump maxed out, suitable turbochargers and enough intercooling should do 800Nm and 200kw.
    Cleanly.

    I have a 1990 4bd1 from a NPR truck and one in my 85 County.
    They both have the alloy sticker at the rear on top of the rocker cover.
    The county engine also has the build date stamped on the sticker,but no build date on the truck engine.
    Sticker states : This engine was manufactured to comply with ADR30

    Hi Damien,
    Its time to get rid of them old rangies and messing around with the old diesels (they don't go hard enough anyway). An old rangie with body lift and big tyres it probably doesn't handle that well and probably noisy in the cabin. Spending money $$$$ on getting it engineered all that Pain. Is it worth it? Just talking from experience.
    Its time to step up to a L322 and you will love it.
