    2 door chassis numbers

    been looking for the chassis numbers on my 77 RRC can't seem to find them looked on chassis near steering box and in same area other side no joy. Any suggestions?

    On the outside of the RHS chassis rail (RHS = driver side) close to where the spring and shock pass on the inside opposite of the rail.

    It'll be there.

    Well two of us with work light scrapped/wire brushed etc that area and could find nothing. Original paint still on chassis in this location ( the standard RRC oil bath worked well) but no sign of any numbers. Am a bit perplexed. Car is almost completely stripped so good access.

    It'll be there somewhere. From memory the letters and numbers are about 10mm high and not very deeply punched.Took awhile to find mine on a 74.

    If all else fails I have a nice 77 chassis with matching compliance plates........but it comes with a white body, 4.4, R380, LT 230, F&R ARB bars, winch, 35's.

    Your offer sounds good would save me a hell of a lot of work and probably money😀 but too far gone now have all engine bits from V8tuner plus AluminimumV8, just got heads refurbed and have two LT95's sitting here. So will stick with original plan of original engine/gearbox etc but all tidied up and anything that says Lucas Prince of Darkness discarded😀
