My '83 was the same on standard height Kings.

I swapped the rears left to right (so they were on the wrong sides), and it sat much more level... I guess the lower springs conter-acted each other... ?!?!

When I tried to chase up genuine springs from LR I was told they were discontinued, D1 is the earliest they do, but they aren't high enough for an RR.

As Gav said, LRA would be the guys to go with for off the shelf... Which I imagine you'd want for a stock-ish resto...
