Thread: 89 rr did they change?

Hi all new here , I've owned the early two doors before and a couple of early 4 doors (85?) but now have just brought a 89 that's been converted to diesel.
It has faults and rust but am willing to work through those.
The thing that I'm wondering is did they remove the ride leveller ? on the old models they were mounted off a square chassis member where mine is round and has no signs of ever having one.
I'm thinking they may have just dropped rr body onto lr chassis is that possible? or did the stop making the ride leveller?

Air suspension RRC had the round cross member and no load leveler, but these did not start until 1992 AFAIR.
