    Classic radio not working.

    My Classic Rangie [94 LSE] radio is no longer working ? CD player works normally ? and the following is the mechanics diagnosis.


    Q -
    Faulty control box in RHR Lining.
    Checked connection in rear of radio and found all connected.
    Traced wiring doen to RH side of roof lining
    Found controller, tested and found no output.
    Recommend replacing with new box, Genuine part not available. Require after market aerial to be supplied.

    • UQ.

    By after market aerial he means drilling a hole in a panel and fitting a telescopic type aerial.



    The car was subsequently looked at by an auto radio repair shop which resulted in a shrug of the shoulders.



    Where to now for me? Any thoughts guys?

    Question

    I had a problem with my VERY EXCELLENT 34YO Proton 320 clock radio recently,.....which this guy fixed.
    In passing, I had a talk to him about other stuff that he does, & He said that He does a lot of classic car radios, so you could give him a call or send an email if you liked.
    They are located in Bayside Melb....works from home.

    Gooday Mate.
    Yes I went though this a few months ago.
    The little booster at the rear of the car above the back window needs a good earth.If that doesn't work you will pick one up from your favorite wreckers.
    I eventually worked out that it was the radio itself, fairly common I was quoted $140.00 from TRS in SA. I opted for an after market radio, cd player and woofer doesn't work but least I have a radio .
