    Find it a long range fuel tank, that'll fix it. They're the same as Disco 1 so relatively easy to find.

    ..For Australia, it 'should' have been supplied with a long range tank. My old diesel Pajero had a 92 litre tank, which gave me .... nah, don't want to annoy anyone !!!

    Fuel gauge was both reasonably accurate and consistant.

    In The Lady Sarah, I get worried when under 1/2 tank.

    Anyway, the tiny tank 'encourages' you to take a break every 2 hours, which is not always a bad idea with our slow speed limits...

    Yep, long range tank and when at the servo, look the other way, whistle a a nice tune and go to your happy place, then sit back and enjoy the ride. In years to come, your Grandchildren will tell their grandchildren you used to drive a V8 and they will be mightily impressed about such a thing.

    And it could end up saving you money in the long term. When fuel prices are low I tank up (138ltr). When high I just put in enough to get me through the weekend as Tuesday is often the cheapest day of the week for fuel up my way. I might try and work out the saving one day.....

    my 88 consistently gets 20mpg highway and 17 mpg suburban driving.

    am pretty happy with that although i wouldn't say no to a gas kit if it landed in my back yard

    Fuel economy, what's that? You drive a Classic Rangie with an old-tech V8, just enjoy the driving experience. If you want fuel economy buy a diesel!!

    Seems 19-20L/100 kms is about consistent, that's what I always used to get out a 3.9 Rangie or Disco 1. Overall it tells you there consistently thirsty...LOL!!

    I've just has a gas kit for one land in my lap. . The biggest issue is the size of the new fuel tank. I'd still like a decent range on petrol, not sure what to do about that yet. It's the only thing that is putting me off installing it. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be easier just to fit a big arse petrol tank instead and just live with the fuel usage.

    My mate's LSE came with a "big arse" petrol tank and one of those manifold tanks of LPG in the back. Range on LPG was terrible but petrol made up for it. He wanted the interior space back so it got an underfloor LPG kit instead and was going to get sill tanks for petrol. Range still wasn't good so it all came out, engine and all and a 300TDi went back in with the "big arse" tank under the back. Range is now a respectable 1000km between fills but the exhaust now smells and sounds horrible.

    Keep it on petrol, the 3.5 is a little sweetie and an el cheapo LPG kit will only disappoint you.
