    It's not feasible.
With movement of the car as you drive along, the mesh ones provide pretty good sun coverage. I had one on my EH wagon and never looked like getting my legs burned (and I did a lot of summer miles/kms in short shorts/stubbies)

Here is my 89 RRC. Flares from Paddock Spares in the UK. No rear bar yet, but going to make one out of pipe with a swing away spare mount. Front bar made by me. The winch is mounted to a piece of bisplate bolted to the chassis. The snorkel is 3" stainless pipe going straight to the MAF, the pod filter on top is the only filter. These pics are from a recent 4WD comp, the car is licensed.

This is an exceptional example - tyres are 235/85/16. It belongs to a friend. It has RR factory lengthened springs and body lift. This profile doesnt rub the radius arm so turning circle is the same. Front guard had to be slightly modified.

LOL :P All jokes aside though, they do perform a very useful and functional role. can also be used as a light bar shield when mounting lights on roof racks.

Hey Mercguy - I couldn't agree more re sunburned knees and will keep watch for an exterior windscreen visor solution as an altenative to my tea/beach towel protection.

I have installed this Solarscreen - Quality custom made window insulation for Motorhomes, 4x4s, Boats and Cars product I originally bought for 100 Series around 8 years ago. Their window treatments over all rear windows drastically improved interior comfort and a/c run time in our 100 when we were living in the Pilbara. They supplied a piece about 6" high designed to go across the windscreen covering the lower part which I never installed until last month when I put it in the RR - its a good improvement. No loss of vision and notably cooler around the front of the cab. Also keeps all that dash stuff from melting into each other (tyre press, pliers, sunnies phones etc etc). We also have black (quite poss illegal now) tint which helps as the car is a 1990 CSK black - anything helps!

I'm presently looking at "Dynamat" type products to further reduce heat (and noise), but heat especially from around the footwell and over the tranny.

    Matt

You wouldn't believe it but I was looking at exactly this website this morning.

I'll be on the blower to them on Monday I think.

Hy-Way Sunvisors in Lidcombe do one for the Range Rover:
    Hy-Way Sunvisors
It's under 'Rover' in their catalogue.

They can supply it primed or painted.

Thanks for pointing that out. A picture is here: https://www.retrospares.com.au/colle...n-visors/rover
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
