Ah, that first drive after a major rebuild. When it's all worthwhile and hopefully nothing catches fire or leaks too much.

fingers will be crossed
Just a thought - have you sorted out insurance? I couldn't insure mine for much at all, and then one day they suddenly decided it was worth a decent amount after all.

Not yet. Was going to try Shannons
Are you going to use it regularly or will it go on historic rego?
If you're going on historic rego, then forget Shannons. speak to NRMA Classic. Note: this is NOT NRMA "as you know it"
Shannons are no longer a useful 'specialist' insurer, seems they have gone the way of all the previous "big" insurers.
I'm in the middle of re-insuring our 5 cars and Shannons have made far too many changes to the PDS for my liking. We will not be staying with them.
Friends have classic cars insured with NRMA Classic and premiums are low, cover is excellent and no dodgy stuff. I have been hesitant for a few years due to the 'bundle' Shannons offered, but no longer.
NRMA Classic is Like the old Vigil insurance used to be.
Just shop around - because I'm finding out to an increasing / alarming degree that theyre all playing policy 'games' with cover and options and the additional coverage 'costs' are extortionate. - it's almost like theyre price fixing.
Bit hard to prove but it'd be nice if the ACCC had a close look at this "industry".![]()

In my 30yrs of insuring average cars, and classics...I have found 99% of insurance companies use the 'reel you in' technique. They offer good deals for the first year...and then increase it hugely at the annual renewals. They depend on the average person being too lazy to shop around and change companies after one year...... The only one I have found here in Oz not to do that thus far is budget direct...and they are great when it comes to claims.
Thanks will bear that in mind![]()
Crikey! I'll bear all that in mind as well!

She does look sweet and is inching ever closer to the big day of completion.
Its been a long road .... many years of buying bits pieces here and there ... squirreling stuff away but well worth the effort .....BRILLIANT.
Look forward to further updates ....
