Wow! Great job. Wish my engine bay looked like that. And you’ve got rid of those dreaded Pommy electrical problems by eliminating all the wiring, too. Serious question now, how did you approach the pollution gear situation with that carb set up? I’m interested because I recently had my 1980 Rangie knocked back for a RWC as it’s running a Holley with no pollution stuff at present. A look at my workshop manual shows all sorts of things that you don’t appear to have.
    Cheers,
    Woolly.

I’d find someone else to do the RWC. ADR 27a covers emissions from 1st July 1976 to 31st December 1981 and doesn’t state what should or shouldn’t be on the engine to meet the standard IIRC, but just give figures that the vehicle has to pass - granted, I doubt a Holley would meet these but if they didn’t actually test for anything, how could they fail it?

I can give you a number of someone who wouldn’t have a clue what carby was on the engine when it was made and is sympathetic to older vehicles.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

6360rpm. I think 6500 is achievable had to back off as 6300 in second may be a bit quicker than 80kph which was limit on road i was on 77 Update

Well its time to finish this thread wrt to updates. I'll still be around but this is last "update" on this thread as car is basically complete. I've attached a link to video of car taken today which summarises work done over last 8 years. I'd like to thank Dave (incisor) for this forum, Double Chevron, Mercguy, Pedro the Swift, Bearman, Konradical, Homestar, Gav and far to many to name. Its been a long and at time expensive trip but i hope you like the finished result. I will put this video up in Members rides as i'm sure some that lurk in other areas of forum would like to see this. Many thanks for the support and encouragement over the years.
