Swapping exposed hinge doors for hidden hinges

Can anyone who has tried this tell me if you can put hidden hinge doors on an exposed hinge RRC.

I assume you would need to use the hidden hinges and replace the front quarter panel for the shorter hidden hinge panel.

But that aside are the door bolt in swaps?

    Thanks in advance

    G`day ,

each one is a set other than the bonnets ,they can go either way .

The guards , doors and decker are mated .

On the exposed hinge the hinge bolts to the back side of the A pillar . Toward the back of the car .

On the hidden hinge the hinge bolts to the outside edge of the A pillar . Toward the street gutters if parked on a street

The pins can be removed but it doesn`t look like the pins could be removed and use half and half hinge , so i guess most will bolt on but opening and closing the doors may present a major problem .

If you really had to do it i guess it would be possible to cut and join a later A pillar bottom .

The exposed hinge car we have shows no sign of rust in the area , hidden hinge cars will often show some , if only surface rust , usually on the fire wall .

    Exposed Hinge Doors

Buggar - ok looks like I need to find an exposed set of doors to replace mine

I need to replace everything forward of the B pillar to tidy Orange Rangie up and have a complete set of replacement panels for exposed BUT one of my doors is a bit dented
BUT I have a set of quarters, deck and doors that are hidden (but no hinges) that I wondered if I can use hence the qu.

Anyone have any good front doors, in particular the front passenger door, for a 4dr rangie - late 89 but it is the EXPOSED one not the normal 89 hidden hinges.
