I thought I'd seen a empty plug in the engine bay that looked similar to Gavins photo
No AFAIK that is also a dealer diagnostic plug.
The display shown sits under the drivers seat in US spec vehicles and is connected near the 40 pin plug to the ECU. But the plug in my 91 anyway was not the correct plug, much to my annoyance.
