    RRC widened steel wheels

I'm looking for 5 original RRC steel wheels (Rostyle) that have been widened so I can fit 245/75/16 tyres on. Can anybody help? Or can I fit that size to to the original size (6" I think) wheels? Was told by tyre dealer not possible. But I am sure I have done it in the past.

I don't know if you want this info, but stock D1 wheels are 7inches wide and accept 245.75x16 tyres. AFAIR , 245.75x16 are rated for 6inch, 7 inch (which is ideal) and 8 inch ( although a tyre seller refused to sell me them for 8 inch rims saying they would demount.

Also stock RRC mags are 7 inch.

So just to confirm that 245/75/16 will go on original RRC 6" Rostyle rims? Be good if they do. Been told by a couple of tyre dealers that they won't.
I am trying to fit a larger radius tyre without having to modify suspension or do a body lift. Want the car to look original as poss.

245/70 definitely fit the three-spoke style rims which I assume are the same dimensions as the Rostyles

No AFAIR the 3 spokes are 7 inch. I have 3 under the house so if someone wants to know precisely I can go and look.

Sorry, didn't mean to cause confusion. I didn't see your earlier post.

Pretty sure Rostyles are 6", 3 spoke alloys are definatly 7".
Have a rostyle here with a 245/70 on it, would be on its limit, but it fits.

Yes I have had conflicting advice from a couple of tyre dealers. One said yes it would be fine and the other said no way. The tyre size is 245/75/16 not 245/70/16. And yes standard RRC Rostyle are 6" wide. Have worked out how much to get some widened to 7" and with bead blasting and painting it's too much money. Trying to keep my RRC looking as standard as I can. Will put this idea to bed for the moment unless I can get some already done. I know that Ritters had some made in the 80s so hoping somebody might still have some.
And by the way what is an AFAIR rim?

Its an As Far As I Recall rim seeing I haven't thought about looking at them for at least 6 years.

I have widened 15x8 wheels Rosstyle rims but in std offset. These will take a 31x10.5R15 and not stick out the guards but they're not a 16. I'll be using these on my 2 door Rangie when I get it back together....one day!!
