    Rear wiper staying on

Has anyone experienced a rear wiper staying on on a soft dash Range Rover, it stays on intermittent mode, feels like I have tried all combinations of on and off including dash button and wiper control lever.

    Can anyone help?

I'm sure the rear wiper on a softy is only controlled via the 2 buttons on the dash. The wiper will stay on when you press the washer button, and intermittent on the off/on button. So the off/on button is where the problem is. Maybe a broken or stuck button.

I do remember that my old D2 you could change the intermittent timing of the rear wiper with front intermittent control on the wiper stalk, but that doesn't seem to work on the softy. Also the it doesn't have the reverse gear function.

    Cheers

Why would a wiper stay on when you press the momentary wash button? Isn't it press, do a wash and 3 wipes and switch off?

Or do you mean stay on for a few wipes?

It seems to be stuck on intermittent mode, like turning on every so often.

I have a feeling it is connected somehow to the main wiper intermitant.

    Will try dash on/off switch.

Does anyone have a softy manual that shows how it all works?

Just found this in the owners manual. I'm sure you've done it, but possibly wiper just not switching off after use?

EDIT - pdf wouldn't paste but words are
after continuously wiping 3 or 4 times, the wiper operates intermittently (approx every 6 seconds) UNTIL TURNED OFF.

    G'day Gav,

I was probably a little vague.

I meant that when you press the wash button the wiper will work continually until you release it, then another couple of wipes after.

And the on/off the wiper will work intermittently (well after the first couple of wipes) so as your problem is with the wiper running intermittently, it would be the on/off button or its circuit.

Yeah, i think it may be wired wrong, as it doesn't need to be turned on to be able to press intermittent
