    Clicking sound when articulating

Clicking sound showing itself when articulating, recently showed itself around town going into dip driveways and over gutters etc.

Usually shows itself when there is slight pressure sideways like turning and going into a dip etc.

Thought it was the ashcroft's needing a rework as it was a cv syle click, turns out there's nothing wrong with them.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Heavy click like almost a clunk, or softer? Only asking 'cos mine has a real clunk in that situation.

Depending on whether or not it is related to the axle housing articulating, I'd check the springs and dampers are captive and the nuts on dampers are tight, I'd check the steering linkage universal joint and splines for possible binding or loose clamp on spline. Check balljoints are tight and seated, then check for anything contacting the chassis or cracked mount points engine mounts etc.

It's one of those noises that's going to persist until you can get a good handle on it's immediate vicinity and can recreate the issue. Only once you've been able to replicate can you isolate and identify the culprit.

My D1 was doing the same thing but a really loud bang/click like something was stuck then would release. Turned out one of the rear D sway bar bushes was missing and the whole sway bar was inverted. New D and link bushes and the clunk has gone and the sway bars doing it's job againClicking sound when articulating

    CV joint?

I have had this problem in the past - bad CV joint.

Find an empty car park (or whatever) with plenty of free space and drive the vehicle in circles with the windows down so you can hear what is happening - circle both ways from lock to lock. No need to drive fast.

If it is a failed/failing CV joint you will easily hear the clicking sound. Nor a particularly big or expensive job to fix.

I have a clicking sound at full lock at low, parking speeds. I suspected cv's but have been told front diff.

Depends who told you that - it will cost nothing to run the simple test I described. A CV joint is a bloody site cheaper than a diff centre!

like a single click, similar to a cv click.
