That's a very clever response.... just skirting the issue ever so slightly
Looks like the D2 will be on the market... providing you're not afraid of scratching that RRS
Yes, governments are closing everything. Nanny state mentality.
We also have the plethora of idiot 4x4 owners and their ignorant-arsed youtube shenanigans to thank for track closures.
Problem is, people in an 'official capacity' (the do-gooder hat wearing club) see these videos and make knee-jerk reaction decisions based on the footage they see.
It's not just NPWS, but private landowners, local councils and state government / regulatory authorities alike.
Anywhere where a track closure can be easily performed, they will do so and cite the idiot 4x4 video footage as examples.
There are instances where I see unnecessary track damage through poor vehicle control, and other instances where it is just the 'mob mentality full-send' behaviour, broadcast for anyone to see, because the video might get a 'like'.
Problem is, those likes also increase visibility of the jackass 4x4'er and the rest of us who don't rip up tracks are left to suffer the closures.
Even though it's off-topic it is a valid point which could tip a decision process in the favour of not owning another 4x4...
Roads?.. Where we're going, we don't need roads...
MY92 RRC 3.9 Ardennes Green
MY93 RRC LSE 300tdi/R380/LT230 British Racing Green
MY99 D2 V8 Kinversand
... Disclaimer:- I doubt if vaccines actually work - as well as they've been 'sold'....![]()
I just dipped my toes in the L322 billabong... started asking questions which may find me charged with treason against the RRC fraternity.
As a precaution I'm just adding a few bit of extra armour plate to my flak-jacket. The vigilante justice around here can sometimes be a little premature.

At least the L322 still looks like a Land Rover & not a Junior Spacecraft.
I hope you both will be very happy together.![]()
Quite so Eevo.If one doesn't have the need for an Off-roader why keep & maintain one & end one's days in the poor house?.
Exactly what I did. My Mazda CX-3 does all I need it to do & can carry a 6' load down the centre with one rear seat folded flat. I couldn't even do that with my D1 because it had a Cargo Barrier in the back section.
It is more comfortable, has all the gizmos I need, rides lovely, excellent fuel consumption but I sometimes wish it was tad higher but you can't have everything & a good stack of money in the bank. It also beats the arse of a Manual with Auto which suits me fine & has Air Bags all around.
