Bugger going real well until just out Narrabi- fuel pump issues. No mechanics available so doing it myself at NRMA wreckers. Carter fuel pump works then stops for some reason. Picking up Facet pump from repco when it arrives this morning and will fit that. Pity sh'd been running goodHeading North

Well... new low pressure Facet arrived this morning at 8:45. Its fitted in place by 9:30 I'm feeling pleased install went well. But then it doesn't run...Turns out it's a 24v pumpHeading North. So another day in Narrabri. There isn't much choice in pumps readily available there's one coming from Tamworth arriving early tomorrow that🤞will do. its right on limit of fuel pressure rated at 1.5 -4psi and I need 4psi. Anything else is out of Sydney earliest Monday- maybe. So spending day watching cricket and quietly cursing ( and smelling of fuel).

    Hello Meccles,

Is Goondiwindi the final destination or just a stop over to somewhere else? I hope the right fuel pump arrives for you tomorrow.

I had to wait two weeks in Tamworth to get a seven leaf - leaf spring from Sydney and then drive back to Coonabarabran three times where my one month old dual axle trailer was being repaired. Some how one of the leaf-spring clusters unpacked itself along the New England Highway and the axle moved and a tyre locked up into the chassis. The trailer was loaded up with an ex-Army ambulance canopy on the back of it. I never found all the leaves. Luckily, there was no one behind me or going past me when the trailer had its little hiccough.

Of course I was under the trailer on the side of the road and using ratchet straps to get the axle back in line when one of the worst dust storms in the area went over and through me. You know the type of dust storms that make the national news type of dust storms! It certainly was a memorable experience!

    Kind regards
    Lionel

A $50 in line cube fuel pump from any auto parts joint will work fine if time is an issue.

Have you checked the strainer at the bottom of the stock pump?

Stock pump failed and was replaced 25 years ago. Checked all line all clear and running good. Tank was cleaned prior to fitting and tank pick up pipe/gauze also cleaned ( not that it needed it). I had a 100 micron filter before pump and its clean. And two inline filters after pump both also clean. There's something funky going on with Carter in that it runs its clean vanes are free but is only pumping intermittently. Thats cold, with fuel tank level at point where fuel runs through pump with gravity. But with pump running- nothing. New pump should arrive this morning was limited in what we could get from Tamworth.
