    RRC Rostyle wheel refurbishment

My 82 RRC has original 16 x 6” Rostyle wheels that are in fairly poor condition.
I’d like to get them refurbished and at the same time widened to be the same as the later 3 spoke 16 x 7” alloys.
    1) Does anyone know who does steel wheel refurbishing, preferably in Sydney.
    2) What is the offset of the Rostyles and the 3 spoke alloy wheels.

The reason for the increased wheel width is because I think the RRC looks a bit under tyred with the original wheels. Just my personal opinion

    Regards
    Phil

I chanced upon a set of rostyles with 7" wide rims and the best bit is that they are 15" OD which matched the tyres I had.

I'd made my mind up to get them galvanised before pick up, but the modded rim parts were chromed.

Have no idea which company modded the rims but it must have cost a bit. The outer rim is welded onto the original centres.

Eastern Wheel Works in Melb might have done them back in the day but I don't know if they're still going.

    cheers, DL

IIRC, the offset on Rangie/D1 alloys is -33

According to this site the original Rostyle wheels and the later alloy wheels were the same offset at +33.
Land Rover Range Rover 1982 - Wheel & Tire Sizes, PCD, Offset and Rims specs - Wheel-Size.com

Therefore the 16 x 7” alloys must have been widened 1/2” in and out compared to the 16 x 6” Rostyle wheels.

Am am I interpreting this correctly and can others confirm this.

A while ago it was fashionable (in Sydney particularly) IIRC, to flip the centres on Disco wheels (Di &D2).

Maybe do a search on here to see who was doing that work up there.

You might find Barrel Bros in Milperra are able to modify rims for you - but their core work is alloy wheels, so they might not be interested in your steelies at all.
