						SupporterHi everyone,
I’ve pulled apart my LT95 from my 1979.
So that’s where I’m at.
Quick question about shaft wear. The main shaft look like it’s pretty worn on the splines that go into the centre diff…
I’ve never driven the car, so don’t know what it was like, but there’s definitely movement due to those splines. Can any one tell me if that needs replacing. I’m assuming yes…
Other than that, the front output shaft looks similar, so that’s an easy one to replace.
The transfer case bronze thrust washers have just about disintegrated…which I’m assuming is from incorrect oil?

Yeah the black is sulphonation from a GL5 spec gear oil.
Someone at some stage used an incorrect spec oil.
All the black pitting on the nonferrous metals is a result of this. check the synchros and the selector forks also.
