    The Vog is finally ready!!!

I was going to update the buildup thread but I couldn't be botherd. Might go back and do so or let the thread die a natural death

    Specs are as follows-

1990 range Rover Vogue SE with all the trimmings and bull****
Stan\dard run of the mill 3.9 EFI, nothing too special there. ZF auto and BW viscous coupling T/case as per all rangies of it's era

    What I've done so far-

Front and rear maxi-drive diff locks with 4.11 hardened crown wheel and pinion set (Great Basin Rover jobs)
2 inch Dobinson springs with pro-comp shocks to suit the lift (long-ish without going too stupid).
2 1/2 inch LRA bod lift kit
    LRA fiberglass flares
Britpart HD trailing arms, also cranked to suit the 2 inch lift
ARB bullbar with 'aldi' 9500 lb winch. I junked the std solenoid pack for a more reliable contactor pack yet to be fitted (plus the control box is poorly sealed, could be an issue long-term)
ARB rear step with a 'homemade' rear wheel carrier
    LRA fiberglass snorkel
Alpine i-pod compatible head unit (better than a stacker IMO, no more damaged CD's shaking around in the console)
16x8 Dynamica steel rims shod with Goodyear MT/R's in a 285/75R16.

Still have to add the HD bash plate (on order) get the exhaust sorted (new rear pipe for now), recover the hood lining and get the air con going for summer.

Now time to go and use/abuse it That's it for now.

Still, I've spent nearly every weekend in 4 1/2 months in the shed to get it up to this stage, also a few hours fater work to get a few 'annoyiing' jobs sorted.

My attitude this time around was to get the vehicle up to a certin stage before I decided to go off-road with it and like I said it's now ready to go, just need a few 'shakedown' trips to get all the bugs (if any) out of it. Going from a Rangie with 33's, lockers and so forth back to stock wasn't my idea of fun

I also had the $$$ to get it up to that stage first off and that was why it was done in one hit instead of dribs and drabs (although I've blown the budget immensly, but I was expecting that. The poor credit card got a real workout to get it finished ).

Re- tree stump. Most suburban backyards you can barely get a swing set for the kids in let alone a tree stump. I live on a 1/3 acre in the 'burbs and even that's too small for us

    Project Vog

Good to see its nearly finished Trav. Its been lonely being one of the only RRC's out on trips. how do you find the Dynamic rims. Is the offset ok???? Thinking of putting my Radial Trepadors on a set of them

Justin, the 285/75's seem to run well on them especially on a 16x8 and they don't rub on the radius arm on fiull lock. I wound back the stops to std and I haven't had an issue and have a decent turning circle again

I think a 35x12.5 would be fine on the 15x8 rims. The 285's are about 11.8 inches wide and would still clear pertty well. Plus at $130-140 a rim they're hard to beat pricewise and pretty decent quality for the price (anything is better than those crap ROH/Speedy rims IMO, they're pathetic ) The combo with the MT/Rs they're actually a bit heavier than the Disco rim/Silverstone combo that I had on the blue beast previously. I know the MT/R's are a heavy tyre for a radial but the rims muct have a fair bit of meat in them too.

I feel your pain being the only 'real' coil spriung LR on trips. It's painful not being out on them and having to read about it here (especially the Coffs Harbour trip, missed out on a ripper) but a few months of pain will pay off over the next 12 months, late 2008-2009 will be trip time again.

Hope the pic works, i'm useless with computers

This is my 2 door i'm fixing up. It is stock as a rock right now, 3.5 carby/ 4 speed. don't know what transfer case or how to find out.

For rego i have to finish the dash swap, fix a oil leak, water leak, exhaust leak find/ get a new set of seat belts and what every else i find.

After rego i'll be swapping in a lpg system, winch bar, 2" spring lift( all from a parts car i'm picking up) putting a set of long shocks all round, some sliders on and maybe a respray. Them making the body of that car into a trailer to take away with me.

I will post up some pics of it finished when i'm done
