The 4 speed is more than likely a LT95, these had the transfer built in/combined where as the later gearboxes being the R380/LT77/ZF Auto was mated to a LT230 transfer case

    Hope that makes sense

This is my 2 door i'm fixing up. It is stock as a rock right now, 3.5 carby/ 4 speed. don't know what transfer case or how to find out.

For rego i have to finish the dash swap, fix a oil leak, water leak, exhaust leak find/ get a new set of seat belts and what every else i find.

After rego i'll be swapping in a lpg system, winch bar, 2" spring lift( all from a parts car i'm picking up) putting a set of long shocks all round, some sliders on and maybe a respray. Them making the body of that car into a trailer to take away with me.

I will post up some pics of it finished when i'm done

LT95. They are a good box. The PUSH PUL diff lock works on engine vacuume so have a look at pipes and diapram on the gear box

No digital camera so sorry no picture. As others have posted in December 2008, I thought I will post a description of our RR instead of pictures. I have a white 1990 RR with electric sunroof that leaks, but love sunroofs anyway. The body paintwork is not terrific, but that does not matter when you live in the bush and do not want a showy car. It only has one or two small insignificant dents. The previous RR we owned all had more minor dents. It has the standard 3.9 V8, with a 4 speed auto box. Would have prefered a diesel, but this RR cost only $1500 with 6 months rego and 4 brand new tyres. It will get our 31X7inch Sunraysias with 31 inch tyres from a rusty 2 door wreck that we sold a few years back, if we can sell the vogue alloys with very good Nakang tyres that are currently on it. It has a tubular bull bar [would prefer a ARB winch bar] with a old pair of Cibie Super Oscars on it. We would have prefered a 5 speed box, but this RR was the right price for us. It does need the rear bumper ends replaced, but we hope to sell the rims tyres, then buy a step bumper with swing out wheel carrier that we know about. We have one of those eyebrow shades above the windscreen, our one being mesh, and also have a pair of rollo roof bars. Have a third non-matching, partly homemade roof bar at home, with a roller, that we will put on our RR. We did exchange the rusty rear uper tailgate, with a fairly good one that came with it, someone else getting the glass from the rusty one when they pick it up. We have a rolled wreck, and a going unregisted 1984 at home, that we are trying to sell, so could have pinched a tail gate from ione of these. we changed over tail light lenses, etc. Our 1990 had shot shock-absorbers and standard springs when we got it. The rolled 1985 one had new heavy duty springs and OME shocks, so those springs and the rear OME got put on this1990. One of the front OME shock ends got bent in the roll over so we decided not to risk straitening it, but had a good pair if heavy duty Bilsteins in the shed that we purchased second hand to put on the 1984, so if someone buys the 1984 they will not have good front shocks. We have cracks in our windscreen behind the instrument binickle but will not replace windscreen until things get worst. It has something like a dumbell weight underneath, near the rear of the gearbox that turns and we do not know what that is. It has wires cut to the brakes so it may once have had something like ABS, but do not know how that works. Spent several hours removing a homemade petrol tank breather that spilt petrol on every curve, and putting another hose onto thre original breather--what fun that was. But that sort of fun came free with the $1500 purchase. This RR car had been used by the previous owner to tow a bobcat on a heavy car trailer, so I will not make mention of the fact that the two bar is rated at only 1200KG. That is why in markets I am selling this towbar to replace it with a hayman Reece, in the step bumper I mentioned above. Oh! and we transfered our ROV424 number plates onto it, when I did not find a buyer for our 1984 with these on them. about 4 days a week from lunchtime on you may see it at Coolongatta Beach if you are up on holidays, and so you will park your Series 3 discovery at the other end of the block, so yours will not be linked to such a Landrover as our pride and joy RR. My son is an apprentice Welder, at Coolongatta.

    Hey Guys,
I am new to this site just thought I would add my two cents. I just bought and picked up my first rangie today. I can now understand your love affair with these beasts. Here is a couple of pics of the beast just after I got it home.

So you park yours on Holdens as well

You are going to run Duel fuel? Why use fuel only engine management? Duel ign advance curve at least would be an advantage. Unless going Full gas injection.

See you have now gone Motorway Mongrel Tyres on in pic.

Are you doing a trim with flares?
    Tony.
