The rangie's got the all clear to go and play

Well folks, I've been given the all clear from the engine builder/tuner today as the Rangie has been properly tuned since the full rebuild (see below)

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/gclro-gene...-now-guyg.html

    figures are
    168hp at rear wheels
    677ftlb

This is on a rear wheel dyno, front wheels lifted with centre diff lock on. (Car has 31" muddies and a ZF gearbox - if that makes a difference). John is happy with how it has come up. He said if he had to put a figure on it during the build up it would have been around 155hp.

Interestingly enough these figures are close to what the P76 in my old two door were before its rusty demise.

    See you on the tracks

    Excellent news Guyg.
Have seen the pics of ure rovers here on AULRO and they are nice.
Would be a shame to parts out ure 4x4 ??
If u do I would be keen to give some parts a second life on my RRover.
    cheers.
Good work on the rebuild its really good for my Wife to understand that I am by no means alone in my Passion for All Things Land Rover.

677 ft/lbs? Surely not, unless you have a Chrysler Hemi 540 under the bonnet.

That is an "at the wheels" figure and can not be compared to any other vehicle on any other dyno. It bears almost no relation to the output of the engine as it is affected by the overall gearing.
