H'mm......... I need to get some new head gaskets and a new cam for the 3.9 out of the 90 model. Can't seem to find much out about what cam to use with the blower so will go for a torque cam as will help with the low end power and see how it goes.

Plenty else here to play with if they don't turn up in time:angel:

I have been waiting on Matt to get the fire wood but he hasn't surfaced yet:p So guess I have to get the wood my self this time:D

You'll need the beer insulators for sure. Temperature only made 4deg today:eek: We are due for some big frost:eek: Make sure your rangie has antifreeze that is good for -8 or we'll have to cover it some how at night.

Going to be good to have my shed back I can tell you:D And a well started project:cool:

Haven't worried about the junk in the way to much but have started to knock up a waste oil heater. Should be plenty of oil about with all these Rovers;)

Well I went to the Mudgee field day today to tire kick some ATV's. So met Khos in Mudgee at the information centre. The second one:angel: My wife dropped me off as had to do a few jobs. Khos offered me a drive of his 3.9 93 Model and runs very nice for a 3.9:D Very free running and torque to burn. I also noticed the brakes are great with the fender front calipers:)
Khos has posted before on his ZF making a noise and getting warm. It dosnt lock up in 4TH and seems the converter complains under load. With the 3.54 diff's, 33s and a heap of tools in the back it was willing to pull 4th in the hills around here with only a light throttle position but knocked it back to third for the ZF's sake. Has a nice note to it at 3000 RPM:D
Showed Khos the so called work shop and his reaction I cant really post:eek:
He thought about four days to sort it all out. I recon it will be done by tomorrow night.;) Also finish the waste oil heater as only needs the oil feed line to work to keep up warm and stop the beer freezing after 9pm:twisted:

We may do a bit on the 45 series before it get shoved aside for the Rangies.

We plan to fit the LRA body lift kit to his Rangie first then move onto mine.
If we get the Lift in and flares fitted I will be happy. Any thing more will be a bonus at this stage. May be the Lockers and 4.11 CWPs.

Warmed up the BBQ and chilled a few drinks tonight:D

Sounds like you're in for a big day there! I just don't know how you're going to get time to do it all after sorting out those beers, theres only 24hrs in a day!!!

Some of you may be wondering if there has been any progress on the Rangie project. Well yes and no.... I have decided to finish with the 45 series Toymota 1st as already have to many things in bits here as it is:(
Also as seen in Oil Heater thread there has been a bit of time spent on the new Waste oil burner.

The work shop is a lot less cluttered now.... Thanks Khos:D

Not a good pic but this is transfer tube I had to come up with up due to the Power steering pump from a HJ 60 now being in line of the Radiator out let so had to unsolder the bottom tank,turn it around and put the out let in the other side to over come this:mad: Also some brackets ,oil cooler and exhaust to finish. Then find all the lost bits including the clutch slave push rod:mad:
It's coming out tomorrow as now have the Rad etc back in.
If I ever did this conversion again I would use a 2F Pump and a 75 series Box. Be a lot simpler.

Now that stinking oily 45 series is out of the way the Rangie is in the work shop and will stay till body lift,flares,brakes etc is done to engineering stage . Then the fun will begin:D
I'm now looking at some way of setting up an air water inter cooler under the blower as with a body lift there will be some room. By raising the blower I hope to find a way of helping with the notorious poor fuel air ratio that causes these Eaton blown rovers to suffer lean detonation.

That's awesome Tony , Just what I hoped to see , a Rangie inside the workshop :D . you did a Great Job with the Toyotoa btw , I just sat in the workshop and watched you throwing spanners at it , your old man must be very pleased now that the 45 is running again and has power and A/C . must get hot in summer. recieved the Bag I left behind with all my welding gear in it , cheers . you're spot on with the rangie lockup converter not locking in 4th and has lots to complaint about under load :( oh well one of those things that needs attention soon.

Look forward to seeing lots more piccys of the 89 project . We'll definitely pull the 90 engine out next time I'm there and do the H/G on it and few other bits and get the Blower on and see how it goes, I think you need to do something about your Fuel Reg on the 90 if you're going to throw the Blower on :angel:the Injectors should have enough Flow.

The Rangie had a large branch fall on it and also got hailed on at Lismorehttp://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/10/10/2055299.htm on our way home from Morton Island in 2007 after we had submerged it in a deep water crossing:eek:.
Wow time gets by on us doesn't it;) I have not touched the Rangie mechanically till now. Have had a bloody good run out of it.:)
It had a hard few years but is still with us. Fortunately the 90 has a straight turret the rest will buff out with a bit off effort.
