I've swapped EFI engines for carby ones in the past, all worked perfectly. Both low and high comp variants and had no issues running EFI.

If you're that concerned, you've got the engine in bits you could always swap the heads over. More work but not out of the question (pending on condition of the heads on the EFI engine you're removing).

As a general rule, always buy an replacement engine that is later or same year as your Land Rover, saves too many hassles later on but I say again nothing that is hard to sort out. I'm just a lazy bastard that's all

    Good luck with it.

    Notch for efi

If the ports are not clean they hard to see.
This head is upsidedown. See the notch on bottom left and right. As some one has pointed out you may already have EFI heads on 84 if original may be out of a Rover SDi. Other wise have been put on. I don't know the number stamped off hand but some one here will so they may identified. If ULP etc

This manifold is off a Rover Vitesse Sdi. They are a bit diferent to Rangie but all I could grab quick.

    I hope this helps.

I have put P76s in 90s rangies and with spacers + Using Current manifold fuel system for year model of Rangie have never had a drama getting them certified. Don't worry it will be fine. Tony

    Thanks mate,

I couldn't see those last night.
I have decided not to grind them, there is a short motor up for grabs & also I have my own engine. So I am going to go ahead & lift the heads on mine - check the corrosion out & see how bad it is & decided if I should use my current heads or not to change over on to the 84.

Other then that - I am going to take a break lol I got Phillip Island next weekend on the bike

Thanks again guys - from here I have learned a heaps & think I will keep on learning
