I take it it is a ZF 4 speed and not a T700 or something silly like that?
Even knowing that........I dont know.....Sorry![]()
Hi All,
I have just picked up a rough 1985 Rangie with a 308 with a 4 speed auto. Body etc rough but very repairable-motor strong- no noise, smoke etc
I already have a clean 1984 Rangie with a 4.4 3 speed auto. I dont know if I want to go to the hassle of changing motors completely as the 4.4 is doing the job at the moment.
I would like to change the auto over though. Will the 4 speed auto bolt up to the leyland without too many dramas?
Thanks
Hamish

Thanks for the replies.....
Im still deciding if I will replace both engine and tranny or just tranny.
The 308 runs sweet, but so does the p76 which has had a fair bit of work done to it.
Nothing wrong with a good 4.4. They have torque to spare. Just don't rev the pick handles out of it and will go for years if have Rangie heads and timing case.
