    Wheel flares!!

    Hi Guys,

Went out in the Mudhog the other day at a local 4x4 park north of Auckland and ripped off another flare!!

I have LRA fibreglass ones. Is there anything else out there people are using?

This is my fourth stuffed flare!!

    Please help.

    Brett

Tere are flexi flares available. They look like the fibreglass ones, but they are much more durable.

I am getting mine in January from Ant at Coffs Harbour 4WD. He imports them from the UK to Australia.

If you do a search on here, you will be able to find a fair bit of information about them.

From memory, mine are going to be seven hundred and something, fitted with guard cutting.

A supply only price would be cheaper, I assume.

I have found a truck flare that looks like the one Justin used.

Have taken the broken fibreglass ones off.

Here's a photo of the flare in rough place.

    Attachment 12827

I have a roll on order to do the truck.

It worked out to be about $23.00 per metre in the 20 metre roll. We should be able to get 3 trucks out of it.

Just working on the best way to fix it to the truck at the moment.

Join the club, I just smashed mine and it's a 4 door one so more $$$.

I just junked mine for the rubber flares which wer buy locally from Clark Rubber. At $17AU a meter they're great vale for money and hardire than the LRA ones.

INO waste of money, could have done the whole car initially for 4100 and had plenty of money left over for beer and 4WD trips (not nessacarily in that order ).

    Hi Trav,

How did you fix the new rubber flare to the truck?

    Cheers

Tek screws do the job, quick and easy. Best to jlet the flares find there natural line to keep them relitivley neat.

I have a square-ish guard on the front but have a curved guard at the back because the LRA flares cover the curved guard you can't cut too much back but that's a 4 door. On a 2 door that's not an issue and a hell of a lot easier

    Thanks Trav,

Have done some trail fixing today with rivets and screws to a bit of timber to see how the flare sits. All is looking good so far!!

So once the flare arrives, all I have to do now is straighten out the body panels and start fitting the flares. I'm going to open up the front abit more as I'm running the Silverstone Extreme 35's and have had them catch at full articulation.

On the back there is alittle problem with the inner guard being seen. Might have to paint it black so it doesn't stand out!!

    Cheers
