Tyres again
Hi all, just a quick question and sorry if I'm repeating this as I didnt find anything in previous posts. Anyway, what is the maxium size tyres that I could put on my 88 Rangie with a 2" suspension lift and WITHOUT cutting guards etc as I've received differing comments from tyre places. Thanks all.

I went through the same quandry a couple of months ago (didn't want to cut guards, flares, body lift etc.. but already had a 2"spring lift), and as you've discovered, opinions vary somewhat...
Advice from this forum and others seem to indicate that 245/70/r16 as the maximum, while some say that 245/75's are fine. I think someone on here fitted 265/85's not too long ago and had some tread-blocks ripped off while offroading.
I settled with 30x9.5x15 on some aftermarket offset rims. Various opinions have said that 31x10.5x15 would foul the rear guards and require steering lock adjustments.
I fitted some 31's on to see how they'd go and they didn't seem to foul on anything (even on full lock), but how they'd fare at maximum articulation is another matter, so went for the wussy choice.
