I'm more surprised at the $150 installation. Last mechanic I spoke to charged $880 for a diff remove/refit of a RRC.

Better watch out JC, you might awake to a buggered 300TD on your doorstep

I am guessing he got the whole diff and and it just a matter of changing centres.

Make sure he keeps the money he saved for a constant supply of 10 spline axles

Anyway, after fitting it I went on the mandatory test drive. How uninspiring. NOT ONCE could I flex it up enough to warrant actually engaging this useless accessory. I tried everything, and even on the brink of tipping the vehicle on its side, I didn't need to engage it.

I told him when he picked it up that he'd wasted his precious $$$ on a completely unnecessary addition to his vehicle.

    thanks JC.....

on a serious note, it was probably the best thing I have bought for years. It was just the locking centre for $50 and it cost me $40 to get it from WA so it is a great price. JC only charge dme $150 to remove the centre and have the locker fitted to the centre and refit, run the air line to the engine bay, fit the solenoid, switch and test drive....cant complain about that

and yes, it has massive amount of flex but you can never tell when you will need some extra traction and at less than $500 including new compressor, t was a steal, how could you say no to that

and yes, we have a sick sense of humour down here and I know JC was just taking the **** so its all good, its actually a compliment

Do you mean three breakages in one attempt to get up the hill or did you keep coming back to the same hill to do more damage?
