    What a waste of money...

Today I drove a 2 door Rangie with a newly fitted ARB airlocker in the rear. The owner INSISTED on fitting this overpriced secondhand item to his beaten up old 77 . I tried and I tried to convince him not to fork out all that cash on a rear difflock, but no, nobody listens to me...

Anyway, after fitting it I went on the mandatory test drive. How uninspiring. NOT ONCE could I flex it up enough to warrant actually engaging this useless accessory. I tried everything, and even on the brink of tipping the vehicle on its side, I didn't need to engage it.

I told him when he picked it up that he'd wasted his precious $$$ on a completely unnecessary addition to his vehicle.

Some people will never listen to advice...

    ....Eh, Mark????

Are you referring to the Green two door Rangie?

He is a member here and is very happy with your service down there.

Ever wished you could take back that last post?

    I sure have.

Even with my bad english I can appreciate that Justin is making a compliment for a so capable machine that do not need a locker of being that good.

If you know Justin or Mark you should never have posted your comments

Both of them are good mates

    Hey big guy

It was VERY tongue in cheek mate!!

Mark and I had a laugh about how capable it is WITHOUT the ARB; I reckoned he wasted the $50 he paid for it and the $150 it cost to fit it, he could've bought a few beers etc for our next barby with that $$$!
That RR went up an embankment that I use to test vehicles suspension mods by far the easiest of all I have ever taken up there, and the ARB was never engaged. He got a bargain alright!

    Its all good

    Good to hear.
Not all of us are so intune with the going ons in Tassie.
I only ever heard good things about your work and didn't think you did one thing and say another.

So relax and may-be I now wish I could take that post back.

No worries BG, I actually re read it and I realise I hadn't put enough Smiley or tongue poking emoticons in there, so yes it did look a bit unkind
But the punchline was supposed to be at the bottom for Mark (2_door) 's benefit.
He understands my weird sense of humour

(just to reiterate, the basis of the post was that he paid $50 for a perfect condition 10 spline ARB, it cost $150 for us to fit it and plumb it in, and in the end I STILL reckon it doesn't need a locker, the suspension rates / droopp travel etc are just perfect! I just felt like stirring him up a bit!)

You weren;t trying hard enough JC

Just played on some hills, this arvo, 3rd low, governor, front and rear locker, 1/2 a dozen attempts to get up, that's not 1/2 dozen stubbies either
