This can be overcome with a defender 1.410:1 transfer case, but it will still be a bit of a slug.

$2k sounds OK, but I'd still get it looked at if you can!

$2k would be top end price

What size did they come with, a 29 is that right? so a 30 or 31 would be a better play tyre size?

There isn't much choice down this way unless you know of anything down south justin. Clarkie, I tend to agree to value unless it is very tidy, but as I said, prices here are a bit inflated.

As for power, you have to remember i'm coming from a series 3 with the 2.6, this will feel like a world of power to me!!! Gas also appeals to me, despite losing storage to get it. The big roof rack should offset that loss to an extent.

I am keeping an eye open, and I have a couple of leads on buyers for the Ambulance which is heartening.
Will be so slow with the TF727 the 2.6 may be quicker. They chew a lot of power as the were designed to go behind Big Block Hemi V8's

    G'day Phoenix

Yup! the 727 was a bit of a power hog about 15% was very good for it's day others sapped as much as 22%, but it was OK in the V8 Valiants but was rather leisurely in the 6's but it is a near industructable auto.

Went for a good run in my 3.5 5sp manual on gas yesterday and it cruises nicely at 105-110 kph on the highway.

    cheers
