Mine isn't 100% finished, but it is driveable. I have done about 1500 km so far.
It was basically a case of remove the original wiring loom and replace it with the Disco one.
I had to spend a bit of time with a multimeter figuring out which wires to connect under the dash, but it wasn't too hard. I found a lot of the colour coding from each loom was the same.
I still have to sort the A/C, charcoal cannister and purge valve, get the temp gauge reading accurately and possibly fit a VSS.
Then I will call it done.

With regard to the radiator, if you are concerened about the original 3.5 radiator being big enought to cool the 3.9, don't be. I have a 4.4 in place of a 3.5 with the original radiator, has towed in hot conditions, e.g. Tanami track etc, without any temp issues at all. Not sure whether it is the size or just the plumbing that is your key issue, but size wise it will cope if it is clean.

AFAIK all the hoses etc are in the same place and they are the same size and fitting method..
The 3.9 and auto has a heat exchanger in both tanks, 1 for the oil cooler and 1 for the auto.
However these are not crucial to the operation of the motor. You can have aftermarket ones if you want.
The 3.5 usually has a three row core and tanks which are sized to 3 cores. a 3.9 has 4 cores so has more fin and cooling area.
However you can get a NATRAD 3 row core ( model 940?)that cools better than the standard Rover 4 core, and will fit the 3.5 tanks. I was outraged that they fitted a 3 core to my 3.9 under used car warranty, and rang NATRAD. the engineer went through the specs and assured me that it was about 18% more tube area and fin area.
