Ive got 33's on mine with a 2" lift, front has been fine, back chopped up the tyres on my first trip, you will need to cut or flatten back the inner guard out of the way, mine's fine now, stuffs up the gearing though with that size tyre.

Ray,
I've got 285x75x16 on rangie alloys with 2" BL & 2" spring lift &
had to trim guards front & rear.. flares are on there way!!
Jeff
same with 32's, depends mainly on width, 235/85's will still just hit the guards on th rear, so stick 255/85's on your rims and start chopping![]()
Good stuff, they look nice on bigger rubber..
Jeff
sorry to dredge this up, but i am wanting bigger tyres and have nfi what will fit and what will fit with alterations to the body.
are there any threads which may have pics of how it is done, or does anyone have any pics of what they have put on/work carried out?
currently my 89 classic is running on 205r16's, disco 1 rims, ride height does look a litle higher than normal but i have only had it a week n a half and have nothing to compare it to.
took it out on the weekend to the beach and dunes and while it impressed me with how reliable it was, i know it would be better with some wider tyres, so the quest begins...
thanks in advance
matt
ps. i can get pics up if it helps with advice?
tried to edit the previous post, but can't.
no longer need tyres or wheels, car has been sold, ta.
