Hi Cameron,
yup, the rubber membrane is a dog to fit and will cause the same issues of trapping water that rot out the lifter rail eventually. On advice from GCoopers I siliconed the glass directly into the lifter and it's worked fine.

Just replaced the window lift channel in my 86 RRC. Having fun trying to get the glass to fit into the channel together with the rubber wrap-around strip. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Cameron

Guys,
Thanks for the response. You have just saved me from more unpleasant moments trying to fit the bugger. Had thought of silicon but thought it may pull out. Will give the Sikaflex a crack.
Cheers

Remember to test the final position of the track when you stick it together ...
Wind the window down ... by a quick flick of the "down switch" till it is all the way down // don't allow it to auto down // Install the track on the way down //
When down // Make sure the window carrier is centred with the "track & the tracking wheels" in the final "down" position // Lower the glass & mark the position of the carrier on the glass prior to sticking it with the "sikaflex"
Trust me ... it's a mess to redo it again![]()
