    interior lights on

So I changed the master and slave clutch cylinders, re-bled the system (not all that easy but worked out a way) and I was happy. Then I noticed the brakes were staying on, so after ripping the rear globes out and checking all the wires everywhere I finally got to the brake activation switch which was not faulty but a tiny bit loose. I screwed it tight and all was well. Then I noticed the interior lights were not going off, I thought maybe I had confused the timer or something from having the doors open a while. I took out the globes to stop the battery draining and then about an hour later found all was well and they were going off (functioning properly) again.

Skip a few days till today and now the interior lights are on the verge of coming on all the time, and constantly flicker on and off. All the doors are closed properly. Does anyone know the cause of this issue?

    thanks in advance.

If it is the same as mine, the interior lights are earth switched - so the power goes to the globe first then back from there through any of the switches to make the earth. Sounds like you have a loose wire somewhere near the door swiches which is touching the body - or faulty insulation on the door switch. It could be something else but I'd try unscrewing the door switches first and having a look.

I pulled all the really really low quality door switches today, the plastic triggers were stuffed and so I remoulded and ground them like new again. The wires if not touching ground simulated the door closed, so right now the interior lights are on, with all the doors closed - eliminating any door switches as the problem.

I also now have found the interior lights will go off when I am driving and hit a bump, or if the car rattles they flicker on and off. To me this is a loose wire. The problem is I think I have checked all the wires - but it really has to be.

Does anyone know how the system works, know where all the connections are or have a wiring diagram?

So far I worked out the interior lights and radio are on the same fuse, there is a lucas 15 second switch in there which seems to trigger ok. There is a diode (I think) which has connections, and they all seem to be ok. I am not getting zero ohms over the wires to the fuse but I think this is probably ok.

Any additional info would be very handy.
