Very neat stuff on your dash , I like it, but why did you remove the jerry can holders, thought that would be practical to keep.

Thanks!
The tie-downs were just nasty, knee-capped me everytime I walked past, plus they bottom-out everytime I hit a steep ridge (and the same reason I wanted thinner/recessed lights). There's still plenty of protection from a rear-ender, plus the eyelets remain which nicely fits 3kg Bow Shackles.

I still have Jerry Can holders and may refit. I only removed initially to grind off the tie-downs, but ended up just leaving them off. They are bloody heavy though, and I may just fit a frame in the rear of the tub to carry 4x cans when off exploring.
Thanks for the feedback!
One more question dan2090. What did you use for the tow hitch?
Hi Dan2090,
Is this yours?

If so, it looks good! Can you show us how you've modified the canopy please?
Another question Dan, what rear led lights did you use? Are they led autolights?
I am an ebay addict that needs counselling:
~Tow Hitch is a "Heavy duty tow hitch/tow bar combination 8-Ton max Capacity 48mm Ball 4x4"
(However I reckon there's better solution I've seen that mounts on the four bolts and tow-bar is able to slided in/out *under* the chassis. This will most likely NOT make the cut for long expeditions as it'll bottom out when steep)
~Lights are "2x Ute Trailer Boat Tail Lights Pair Indicator Stop Reverse 12v Camper LED Lamps" also need the Sender unit (separate)
~Canvas mods were by a guy in Ballina (Canvas Shed), just $70. 1. was add 'window' to FFR driver blackout canopy (generally stops spray in really bad weather - it's currently down in the picture from the back). 2. Add zips on the sides, just behind the roll-cage. This means that the sides pretty much can stay up all the time which allows good viz for reversing.
Both canvas 'mods' essentially create a "cab" around the driver. The blackout canopy rolls up when warm weather returns.
Thanks Dan
That hitch is not what I was after. Did you have a link to your "better solution"?
The shop started pulling out the box today.....after 3 weeks of waiting
Changed all fluids and fuses, a quick heads up to any 1st time defender owners make sure you remove and clean your sediment filter and top back up with deso before putting back as mine had some rust flakes in it, hopefully from jerry's not the tank.
