The first thing you should do is change your diff ratio. Have a search on here, others have done this.
After that, fit an intercooler with a bigger turbo. Again, there is much discussion on this forum about this.
I have looked into this and I think your right. Leave the trans alone and attack either side of it. More power and lower diff ratio

    However,
I've not done this personally "yet" so I can't comment.

I know there is a mob in Victoria call multi-drive I think that makes a splitter box that can drive the rear wheels and fit behind a standard 5 speed used in cruisers.

Anyhow, this is getting off topic.

What I did today was very very naughty..... I went and bought my second 6x6 ARN 202238 with 4000 KMs on the clock. I just couldn't help myself. I think I need to delete my grays account.

Does anyone have any history on this vehicle ?

Did anyone else buy anything today ?

    Just catching the perentie bug.

You could certainly kiss fuel economy goodbye.
    But why not.
Would be the most awesome thing on earth...

I thought I had read somewhere that the third axle uses a power take off? Or is it more complicated then that?
Yes, it uses the power takeoff, but unlike the PTO on other transfer cases, this one turns at the same speed as the rear output shaft of the T/C, not the same speed as the gearbox output shaft. The T/C is designed with this intention for the powered trailer that was designed with the 101. (A conventional PTO can also be fitted driving off the gearbox output shaft)

Ah ok, interesting to know. Thanks for clearing that up.

The powered trailer is new to me, sounds pretty choice!

The PTO is a little unconventional in that it bolts to the bottom of the T box and uses a chain drive from a sprocket from the input gear. It means this chain is whizzing around all the time the truck is driving whether the PTO is working or not.

I still have the 4.7 diffs in my 6x6 but run 900x16 tyres or now 255-100-16,s

4th or direct gear gives 100 k,s at around 2900 rpm.

It looks a little like this

The chain driven PTO is only for the winch drive. I believe non winch variants won't have it, rather just a blanking plate,

The second rear drive is gear driven. In the first picture you can see the chain going down towards the winch pto. The rear drive bolts on where the. Hole is.

    Hope this helps.

    ....
Just to clarify this, the LT95 can also have a conventional PTO - but not when it has the third axle drive fitted.

The powered trailer sounded like a good idea, but was found in practice not to be - consider the situation where you are on a tight turn and the rear wheels lose grip, but the trailer wheels do not!

I believe only a few powered trailers were built, and it is doubtful that any still exist.
