Hi Warrick, go to this link,

    [ame]http://afmsafety.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/VEH_G090_LandRover_110_4x4_RFSV_modified_Data_Summ ary.pdf[/ame]

it rates the tare weight (unladen total) as 2,740kg's for the rfsv..
im going to print this with a pic of the comp/plates and use this as a certificate, instead of going to a weighbridge..after all, its a saftey data manual from the army...

also found out , prior to 1990, you didn't need an immobilser in wa, ours is 1991, so we need it by law...

ill let you know how my licensing attempt goes formy rfsv perentie..

    thanks robbo

I don't think it actually matter what year the vehicle is, if it is being registered in WA, an immobilizer is required.
In fact, thinking about it, I'm sure one is required as a mate of mine had to fit one to his 84 4runner when he moved over there.
    Found the relevant information.

After being cooped up for a while, I took the 6x6 for a little drive, very enjoyable it was.

Cheers Robbo. Great to meet you the other night too. I will print it out but I am going to a weighbridge tomorrow arvo to make sure it ticks the box as well. I have fitted the immobiliser and sorted out the other issues I think. Power steering unit does have a small leak but I am going to wash it off and go straight to the inspection and see how I fare. I have it booked in for a return visit on Monday. I will sort the leak out later once it is licensed. Does anyone know if the 4 bolt power steering unit can replace the 3 bolt unit? I have been told by a parts supplier in WA that it can but thought I would run it past the wisdom of the AULRO experts first before I invest in a new 4 bolt unit. does $880 sound like a fair price for the 4 bolt unit? Regards Warrick.

Tom's Towbars, Pappas Drive Wangarra. They are open between 8am-4.30pm and it costs $25 to weigh your vehicle. I rang them this afternoon and they said you dont have to book just turn up. The other option is Tamala Park Tip. There is a weighbridge there and I have heard that you can do it there but someone else has told me that it depends who is on the gate. Maybe try Tamala Park first on the way down from Two Rocks and if you cant do it there then go on to Toms Towbars. Hope that helps. Regards Warrick.

Installed the PAS kit from KLR into 48 749 this weekend. Took about 4 hours and I can only praise the contents of the kit and the installation instructions.
    What a difference!
Took her to Burralow camp site on Sunday to try out the PAS and it really is great.
Really makes a difference at slow speed.
If you have a Perentie talk to Brad from KLR.
    Regards,

Does not apply to vehicles over 25 years old - which would include many Perenties, according to the link. And vehicles the weight exemption probably exempts 6x6s.

    Gday Warrick,
I registered my Perentie in W.A. with no problems.
No weighbridge, no immobiliser, no key.
No vehicle over 25 years old needs an immobiliser.
    Where did you take it?
Let others know not to go there.
    Paul.
