No pics but i've wired up my dual battery setup. Three batteries. One n87lz starter battery, 2 x d70z deep cycle batteries in series. Haven't tested it yet coz i've still gotta wire up the switch for the isolater bypass. I've also wired the driving lights up but not fitted as i'd like to keep them also. I also fitted my old kings 2.5 x 2.5 awning. I've also got the rear awning ready to fit but not yet as i want to keep it too. Going to test the crank battery tomorrow as i've found out it's 4.5 yrs old. My luck it will fail at melrose if i don't check it. Next few days i've gotta fit an anderson plug to the "house" batteries and a few power sockets, test mount the 160 watt solar panels and see if they work. Gonna be a busy roof rack on the bushpig.

    Cheers Rod

Today i changed the oils in gbox n transfer case. Bit shiny. Checked the rezt of the oil levels. All good. Tightened the lower banjo bolt on the injector pump. Was leaking. Greased the tailshafts. Noticed a lot of play in the rear tailshaft. Looked inside the fill plug. Slop seems to be in the drive flanges. Removed the plastic caps. Shock. The flanges were stuffed. Pulled one off. The splines were as sharp as a razor blade. Caught them just in time. Fitted these this afternoon. $110 each from TRS. Wish i had more money, id have bought a fuel tank too. I also finished wiring the dual battery isolater cut out and a dual volt gauge. Oh and a driving light switch too. Isolater is switched. So is volt meter earth so it can be turned off. Im ready now to go to Melrose show. Just a lot of packing to do.

    Cheers Rod

Today I ordered a new thermostat and took the coolant sender off the 91 perentie to see if they are the same as the 87 county b/c I didnt know. They look a bit different and since neither works well anyway, i think it's time to replace the sender/gauge with a new VDO kit. Need to find the right part numbers to do so.

I drove the bushpig today. Wow what a difference having little or no slop in the drive train makes. Its almost quiet. A pleasure to drive...maybe. Ill find out tomorrow when i casually make my way to Melrose for our yearly land rover club do with a 70th anniversary celebration to it. LRRegSA invites all land rover tragics to Melrose. At least it wont be as crowded as Cooma. Cheers Rod

Not our Perentie, but we came across this last Thursday afternoon on the Sturt Highway, just out of Balranald.
It occurred a couple of hour previous, Perentie FFR versus two Semi's. Not sure of the actual circumstances,
but one prime mover was sitting on the verge with a badly damaged front right side. Another, a B-Double, was
also parked up with it's front right corner all peeled back. Possibly this damage was sustained from running
into the rear left corner of the Perentie.
Any one from AULRO own or know of this Perentie? It had NSW rego.
The Perentie has taken a big hit and sustained a lot of damage, however the cab looked pretty well intact!

    Cheers, Mick.
